Writing

My most recent attempt at poetry

GLIMMER DANCE
A darkened floor is graced with light
Recessed with shadows of the night

The rhythm is a dancer’s beat
The motion felt, a lover’s heat

Feet entranced, the ballroom dark
An evening song lights love’s first spark

And all the world becomes a blur
When all songs sung remark of her

The road to her was hard for him
His heart within had grown most dim

Yet moments came when dance proved warm
And softened light blessed them with charm

Her body moved, the song stood still
He held her close as with no will

Then one tick, and one last tock
And motion stopped on every clock

Within their world the master song
Gave each to each for whom they longed
